Suffolk Newsletter October

Mark Bolton has moved on to new pastures with Eastern Counties and Bill Vine is being kept busy by top of the table  Colchester. So we are in need of a Level 2 Coach and Manager. Role Descriptors and Application forms are attached to this Newsletter. Please send them to John Winders by November 20th. Interviews will take place in  December.

Quite a few Clubs are performing well however. Colchester & Bury lie first and second respectively in London N1.

Ipswich are mid-table in NE2 and Stowmarket & Sudbury are 4th & 6th in NE3.

Harwich, YM & Southwold are doing well in EC1 as are Thurston, Hadleigh & Mistley in EC2.

Haverhill are building up their playing membership in Suffolk League One, but cancellations are causing all sorts of problems!

The worst, as far as I’m concerned is where a senior side fixture is cancelled and those players move down to lower teams! The resultant thrashing their opposition gets is not in the spirit of the game, and may well put some players off. One team ended up with eight players injured !

Come on guys. It is not on!

Clubs scoop Awards at Suffolk Sports Awards.

Ipswich YM won Club of the Year Award for both their success on the pitch but also for getting the Whole Club Accreditation (Seal of Approval)

Woodbridge Rugby Club along with Suffolk Coastal DC received the Innovative Project Award for their Pub Rugby initiative through the summer.

Ellen Gattlin was nominated for Young Sports Personality of the year.
