Pitch Improvement Support

Eastern Counties Rugby Union (ECRU) are taking steps to support clubs to improve their pitches. This support will be offered in three ways:

• The formation of a group set up to share best practice and access expert pitch maintenance advice. The  augural Meeting – of the ECRU Groundmans  Association will take place at Bury St Edmunds RFC on  5^th October 2011 beginning at 7.30pm.
• ECRU hope to use the collective buying power of all ECRU clubs to get better deals on seeds, chemicals and machinery hire or purchase
• It will improve access to RFU resources and funding to support pitch improvements

On the 5^th of October ECRU will launch this co-operative group with the offer of free chemicals to all clubs from a local company.

It is important that every club makes sure they have a representative at the 5^th October meeting to access this support. If your grounds and pitches are maintained for you by a third party it will still be beneficial to attend, as access to resources, funding and best practice advice will be provided to this group.
