If you use the e-application both CSO and applicant must be members of the Club on RugbyFirst. The CSO should aslo have got a password from RFU Safeguarding team. Once the CSO has logged on s/he ticks the box next to the applicant's name and a new box appears at the very bottom 'apply for CRB check'. Once you have clicked on this the whole process starts. There is a help menu and help on RUSafe webpages.

CRB personnel seem to delight in returning your forms for the smallest and most petty reason.
So how to avoid those errors! Scrutinise their forms carefully when they bring them to you.
Is it in BLACK INK, CAPITAL LETTERS and within the BOXES. NO PHOTOCOPIES!
Are all the yellow boxes completed? If fields not relevant LEAVE BLANK! If cross in wrong box then put x in right box and circle it.

Line 3 Make sure MIDDLE NAME is included (Check against Passport)
Line 5 if married woman ensure she has put MAIDEN NAME in other names
Line 14. DATE OF BIRTH crucial (Check against Passport or Birth Cert) Yes they do get it wrong!!
Line 19 TEL NO. - no spaces!
Line 20. NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER is crucial. (On Tax Form)

Current address Line 36 United Kingdom
SECTION C
If not lived there five years then previous addresses. If more than two then CRB have a continuation sheet which can be accessed on their website (or e-mail Martin Peacock for a copy)
Make sure there are no gaps!

SECTION E sign in box Don't forget date on line 57
SECTION W
Don't forget to cross verification boxes in sections a and b as you see the evidence. (Make sure numbers are correct)

Line 60 - YES to CRB
Line 61. Coach of U10's or whatever
Line 63 ENHANCED Line 64 & 65 just put yes. Line 66 If they are likely to host touring team mebers then YES
Line 68. All volunteers are free of charge!
